\u201cThe skeptic may deny our doctrine or attack your church, but he cannot honestly ignore the fact that your life has been cleaned up and revolutionized. He may stop his ears to the presentations of a preacher like me, or the pleadings of an evangelist, but he is somehow attracted to the human interest story of how you-John Q Public-found peace within. Believe me, the steps that led to your conversion are far more appealing and appropriate to the lost than a pulpit exposition of John 3 or Romans 8.\u201d Chuck Swindoll<\/p>\n

\n

Zacchaeus was a very wealthy man. His name means (righteous one<\/strong><\/span>) or (pure<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u00a0 II.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A SINNER TRANSFORMED BY THE SAVIOR \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

To Jesus, Zacchaeus was not someone to (despise<\/strong><\/span>), but someone to (love<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

An invitation to a meal had many ritual overtones:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 How the (hands were washed<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 How the (food was prepared<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 How the (dishes and pots were cleaned<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Whom (you sat\/reclined next to<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\n

(Transformation<\/strong><\/span>) is real and candid when it can be seen.<\/p>\n

\n

Z commits to do two things:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Give up \u00bd his earnings to the poor<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Restore 4-fold to those he defrauded.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
