 <\/p>\n

\u00a0I.\u00a0<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 THE WISDOM OF JESUS<\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

The scribes were (lawyers<\/strong><\/span>).\u00a0 Four major groups:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pharisees- (legalists<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sadducees- (liberals<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Zealots- (rebels<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Essenes- (withdraw<\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n

\n

Several issues stand out with this scenario:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Where is the man?<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Was this staged?<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Purpose behind this whole grand scheme?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

II. \u00a0 THE WORDS OF JESUS \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jesus stands firm, refusing to compromise His principles.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He speaks to the men.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hands of the witnesses shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people.\u201d\u00a0 Deut.17:17 (NASB)<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He speaks to the woman.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll truth and no grace breeds legalism; all grace and no truth breeds licentiousness; truth and grace breeds freedom and life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Three tremendous lessons to learn:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Her sin was not just set aside; it was (forgiven<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Forgiveness rests upon (God\u2019s grace<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Forgiveness rests upon the Lord\u2019s (forgiveness<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n
