TITLE: Rock Steady
Scripture: Psalm 112
I. THE CHOICE OF A STEADY PERSON
The psalmist makes the point that the person who truly loves and worships God will be like Him. We become like the God/god (we worship).
Psalm 11 & 112 are a like in many ways but there is one significant difference: Psalm 111 celebrates (Jehovah) while Psalm 112 celebrates the life of (the righteous person).
What is a godly man/woman like?
1. He (fears the Lord). Acts 17:28 says, “In Him we live, and move, and have our being.”
2. He (delights in God’s commands). “God made me fast and when I run I feel His pleasure.” Eric Liddell
II. THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A STEADY PERSON
What are the characteristics of a steady person?
1. He (passes on his strength). [Verses 2-4]
2. He (practices justice). [Verses 5,9]
3. He (stands rock solid). [Verses 6-8]
“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” 2 Cor. 9:6
“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” Gal.6:7
