OVCF Announcement 6/24/2018

UPDATE ON ADDITION AND REMODELING

 

With the announcement of the transition of the Pre-school class beginning next week to the new addition, we feel it is a good time to bring you up to date concerning the addition and further remodeling.

The reason this will be the last Sunday for the Pre-school to be in their current location and to be in the addition next week is due to further remodeling to be taking place. Starting tomorrow, Peter Bales will be here tearing down the wall which separates the current classroom and the storage area. That wall will be moved, a door installed, the current storage door removed and that space closed off for what will become Ryan’s new office. We are closing that door off so he can’t run off and hide. J Seriously, it will give Ryan three things he does not have now: privacy; being closer to the offices; and a window. That renovation will also include new carpet in both areas.

But our renovation is not done. The current Elementary classroom will undergo some major work and become the new Nursery. The carpet will be removed and new carpet installed. The window will become a door with access to an outside playground. The burlap on the walls will be removed and then repainted to Judy’s color scheme. If you would like to help, she will not turn you down.

Many of you have noticed the sorry state of the carpet in the hallway. That was largely due to someone spilling food all over himself and the carpet as he came for Dine with a Doc. After the Pre-school room is done, our next project, along with the nursery will be the renovation of the hallway. We will be tearing out the burlap sides (which is very dated), painting the walls, and installing new carpet. We believe this will go a long way to sprucing up our building and making it more welcoming.

There is still a lot to be done. Furniture moved. Walls prepared and painted. Ideally we would like to have this done before carpet is installed. If you are able to help please let Ryan, Diana, or me know. To be honest, we are on a time crunch since there is a date set for carpet installation and Ryan will be gone to camp next week.

Finally, thanks so much to all of you who have helped. We have been able to accomplish what we have because of your help and generosity.

Coming to OVCF in July

Coming to OVCF in July:

We are happy to share that the addition is nearly completed!

¨ Due to renovation of the current building beginning the last week of June, we will transition the Preschool class to their new classroom on   July 1st.

¨ We will transition the Elementary class to the new classroom on      July 15th.

Change For Life

¨ Mother’s Day-Father’s Day we will collect donations for New Beginning’s PRC’s Change for Life fundraiser.  Proceeds benefit local families in need.  Bottles will be available and are due back to OVCF by June 17.

Small Groups

We are in the beginning stages of launching a small group ministry at OVCF!  We are currently recruiting facilitators-those who are willing to host and lead-to join a group of facilitators who will begin a training     process.  If interested, please complete the insert and place in the offering.  We will contact you soon!  If you’d like to participate in a small group but not facilitate, please choose that option.
