TITLE: The Act of Love
Scripture: Isaiah 52: 13-53: 12
I. “I DID THIS FOR YOU”
Isaiah has what are called (Servant Songs). These Servant Songs are prophecies about Messiah who is coming. Here Messiah is called (God’s Servant)-the Savior who rescues us from sin’s death grip and gives us a new, blessed life.
52:13-15 show us what Messiah came for: it was His (mission).
II. “I KNEW THIS WAS COMING”
Jesus told His disciples what was going to happen:
1) Matthew 16: 21-23
2) Matthew 17: 22-23
3) Matthew 20: 17-19a
4) Matthew 26: 1-2
5) Matthew 26: 6-13
III. “I DID ALL THAT WAS NEEDED”
The principle behind those words (John 19:30) is Christ died to (complete the work) God gave Him to do.
“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Cor.5:21 (NLT)
