TITLE: Finishing Well
Text: Hebrews 12:1-3
“Don’t throw away your confidence…you have need of endurance.” Heb.10:35
I. WE ARE CALLED TO FINISH WELL
The Greek word for “run” is agon. We get our word agony from it.
There are two differences in our spiritual race from life’s race:
1. There is an (individual course) laid out for each one of us.
2. We are not (in competition) with anyone else.
The word endurance means (steady determination).
II. WE MUST BE DETERMINED TO PREPARE
How do we prepare?
1) We follow the (example) of the heroes of the faith.
2) Realize this race we run is filled with (distractions).
3) (Disqualification) is a real possibility.
4) (Keep your eyes) on Jesus.
